About Gillian
Beginning in 2000, in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh, I began my career in the salon industry. Working my way up the ranks in the salon from shampoo girl, to assistant, to stylist. It was in my first salon that i met my first lifelong mentor, Timothy Kranick who taught me about business, the perfect blonde, and the killer blowout. I credit Tim for my love of working with so many blondes behind the chair. There I was trained in formal hairstyling, attended various Loreal, Redken, and Wella classes and Hair Shows. During this time, I also became a certified I-tip and Tape-In Hair Extension Specialist and Keratin Specialist. After relocating back to Philadelphia, I managed a large successful salon under the direction of Will Bostock. Will became my second lifelong mentor. Will instilled in me the responsibility of client satisfaction, and the importance of building relationships with each client. He stressed the importance of branding, and was a master at curly hair. I credit both Will and Tim for who I am as a stylist and business woman today.

In March of 2020, I became a Brand Educator for Wella Professional. By a stroke of perfect timing and the stars aligning, after spending three years in Bensalem and Bristol, Pa., I rejoined Will Bostock as BLue A Hair Studio in August of 2020. 12 years almost exactly after I started the first time, only this time, behind the chair. My passion for beauty and hair comes from a desire to make each woman that sits in her chair feel a little more beautiful when she leaves. I feel if I have done that much, I have done my job well. It is about so much more than hair to me. My favorite things to do in the salon are all things blonde and curly hair. I do have a great affinity for vivid and creative color as well. I love pretty hair! I am a mother of two teenagers and has lots of family. I consider my father to be my best friend and personal hero. I identify myself as a woman in recovery. I love music, writing, singing, swimming, laughing, and making others laugh. My motto in the salon is, ” Empowering women from behind the chair one hair at a time.”
